Robert James "RJ" Inman
January 10, 1918 - October 14, 2016

Funeral service for Robert James "RJ" Inman, 98, of Fairview will be held at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the Fairview Methodist Church, Fairview, Oklahoma. A private family burial will follow the service. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

R.J. Inman was born January 10, 1918 to Thomas Jefferson and Beulah Avon (Brown) Inman on the family farm in the Togo community in Major County, Oklahoma. RJ grew up in Togo and had 9 brothers and sisters. There were 5 boys and 5 girls. The house they grew up in was approximately 1000 square feet and the children slept three to a bed. He attended and graduated from Cheyenne Valley School.

He married Helen Judd on May 31, 1940 after they had dated for one and a half years until he was 21 and she was 16. The young couple was blessed with two daughters, Marilyn "Nadine", and Arleen. They have enjoyed 76 years together before his passing. RJ was a farmer and rancher all of his life but still found time to be active in the Cheyenne Valley Methodist Church. He was a Mason for 60 years in Waynoka with dual membership for 20 years in Waynoka and Fairview.

Survivors include; his wife Helen, daughters: Marilyn Nadine Thomas and Arleen (Bill) Benson all of Fairview, brother, Delfred Inman of Cheyenne Valley, sisters; Virginia Harmon of Bella Vista AR, Susie Sutherland of Woodward, Ardena Bartlow of Kansas City, Darlene Lyon of Woodward, two grandchildren, Brandon Benson of Piedmont, OK and Derek Thomas of Dundee, IL, and three great-grandchildren, Morgandy, Victoria and Kammie Jo Benson all of Piedmont, OK..

Preceding him in death were his parents, sister Ines Bouse, and three brother; Eugene, Gerald Dean and Lilburn Inman.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Fairview or Cheyenne Valley Methodist Churches or charity of their choice.
