Fairview Cemetery



The funeral for Hulda Howerton, 92, of Fairview, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Fairview First Church of the Nazarene. The Revs. Chuck McKinney and Travis Howerton will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc. Visitation will be noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, and at the church prior to the service on Thursday.

She was born Nov. 4, 1914, northwest of Fairview to Cornelius and Jullia Kasper Unruh and died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, in Fairview.

She attended Red Top and Roscoe country schools. The family moved to Fairview and she worked at Smokey’s Cafe, White Rock Cafe and Fairview Bakery. She married Loyd G. Howerton May 2, 1937, in Fairview. They moved the family to a farm near Longdale in 1948. They moved back to Fairview in 1984. He died April 28, 1999. She was a member of Fairview First Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are one son, Paul Howerton of Longdale; one daughter, Judy Laubach of Okeene; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Loyd, four brothers and five sisters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Fairview Hospice Circle of Love.
