Funeral service for Gary Gene Gray will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Adair and Pastor Jarrod McReynolds presiding. Arrangements are by Pierce Funeral Home, Fairview.

Gary was born on June 11, 1953 to Cecil and Peggy Gray and left this life on July 25, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, John Gray and his son, Bill Gray.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; his daughter Candace Simmons and her husband David; three grandchildren, Chloe Hughes, Emma Simmons, and Prairie Rose Simmons; Brian Stephens and wife Destiny Stephens; two grandchildren, Brianna Stephens and Ryne Stephens; his sister, Jackie Gray Hoffman and brother, Terry Gray; Jeff Gettys and Marcy, Peter and Amanda Gettys and Kristen Gettys along with many nieces and nephews. He was the beloved Uncle Gary to all of them.

He married Mary Gettys Stephens on November 21st of 1998. They lived in both Seiling and Fairview and enjoyed a happy life together. Gary worked as an electrician for United States Gypsum (USG) for many years. He was enjoying his retirement years when he passed.

Gary was known as the fixer and builder to all who knew him. If something was broken, he could fix it. If he didn’t know how, he would do research and find out how. He always had some project or another he was working on. He loved fishing and spent time at Canton Lake with his son Bill.

He loved his family and was so kind and loving to all who knew him. He was a loyal friend, and a great dad, husband, and uncle, along with a good brother to Jackie, John, and Terry.

Memorials can be made to the following organizations that Gary consistently supported: Salvation Army, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and Wounded Warriors Project. Condolences may be made online at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
