Fairview Cemetery


ENID - The funeral for Emma May Howerton Geiger, 80, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Fairview, will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at First United Methodist Church, Fairview. The Rev. Rich Redinger will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc. Viewing will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

She was born Sept. 28, 1929, in Fairview to Leo and Edith Boston Howerton and died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, in Oklahoma City.

She grew up in Fairview and attended Longdale schools, graduating in 1947. She worked for TG&Y in Fairview.

She married George Geiger Jr. May 8, 1947. They moved to Oklahoma City, where she worked at Cat's Drug, then as a housekeeper at Deaconess Hospital for six years. She lived in Oklahoma City for more than 35 years. She returned to Fairview in 1985 and worked for MAGB as a driver for more than 10 years. She then returned to Oklahoma City in 2002, where she lived at Lakes Care Center until her death.

Surviving are two daughters, Donna Geiger of Oklahoma City and May Sharp of Edmond; one son, George Geiger of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, one brother and one sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, diabetes division.
