ENID - The funeral for Dennis Leon Frech, 68, of McWillie, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at Cedar Springs Church of the Nazarene, seven miles west of Fairview on Hwy. 60. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The Revs. Herb Berkley and Lynn Coulter will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the family present from 5-8 p.m.

He was born Jan. 19, 1942, in Alva to Otto and Margaret Ryel Frech and died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at his home.

He grew up in McWillie, Aline and Helena. He started school in McWillie and graduated from Helena High School. He attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University, graduating with a major in industrial arts and a minor in horticulture.

He married Janis Parker June 1, 1966. He worked at Kline Implement and then for Kline-Dettle Implement, when the two merged. He also was the auto mechanic instructor at Helena Boys School and the horticulture teacher at the James Crabtree Correctional Center. He worked at Atwoods and served as Alfalfa County Safety Director for several years. He retired in 2008. He was a longtime member of Helena Lion's Club and a deacon and member of Pleasant Plains Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are his wife, Janis, of the home; children, David Frech of Fairview, Dale Frech of Edmond, Don Frech of Helena, Laneta Whitely of Cherokee and Bruce Koehn of Waynoka; three brothers, Ken Frech of Medford, Ron Frech of Paradise, Texas, and Doug Frech of Helena; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter and one grandson.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Cedar Springs Church of the Nazarene or Oklahoma Medical Research Found-ation, diabetes division.
