February 3, 1928 - September 12, 2020

The memorial service for Ruthetta Pearl (Sholtess) Classen will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday September 18th, at the Fairview Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Herb Berkley will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

CDC Covid guidelines will be followed with Social Distancing and wearing of Masks. There will be no viewing. The casket will be closed before, during, and after the service. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery West of Fairview.

Ruthetta was born February 3, 1928 to Charlie and Anna (Wieler) Sholtess and passed from this life on September 12th, 2020 at the age of 92 in Oklahoma City, OK.

She attended Longdale Schools. Ruthetta married Harvey Classen October 6th, 1946 and he preceded her in death. May 3rd, 2000 after 53 years of marriage. She was a member of the Cedar Springs Church of the Nazarene and was involved in church mission for many years. She worked at the Chester Cafe for several years.

They lived in the Cedar Springs area after they were married for a few months before moving to the farm West of Chester. Ok in March 1947. They lived there for 37 years. They moved to the Midway area March 1984. Ruthetta moved to Bethany, OK in May 2005 and then to St Ann’s nursing home in Oklahoma City, OK in May 2012 .

She is survived by one son, Larry Classen and wife Janet of Tuscon. Arizona; one daughter. Jana Whatley and husband Paul of Yukon. OK; three grandchildren. Lynnette Page and husband Jeremy. Allyson Cartwright and husband David, and Rachel Whatley. Five great grandsons; Jordon Ross. Jacob Ross. Luke Page. Luther Cartwright. Kepler Cartwright and one great granddaughter; Sue Cartwright and several nieces and nephews.

Ruthetta was preceded in death by her parents. Charlie and Anna Sholtess, husband, Harvey, daughter Ruth, and two brothers.

Memorials may be made to Cedar Springs Church of the Nazarene with the funeral home acting a custodian of the fund.
