A private family funeral service for Millie “ Mae” Arnold, 90 year-old Enid resident was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Mae was born April 25, 1922 in Longdale, Oklahoma to Frank and Elizabeth (Lust) Meyer and died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in the Commons. Mae attended school in Longdale. On October 26, 1941 she married Robert Kenneth Cook in Jet, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Enid where she owned and operated the Starlight Lounge.

He preceded her in death in 1978. On March 21, 1982 she married Bob Arnold and they lived in Enid. She enjoyed sewing and working in her garden.

She is survived by her three children; Stella Bahe of Arkansas, Sandy Avery and Harold Cook, both of Oklahoma City. 12 grandchildren, several great and great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Marie Swann, of Enid and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, two sons, Ken and Bobby, grandson, Roger Cook, three brothers, Richard Meyer, Billy Meyer, and Bud Meyer, and two sisters, Betty Shook, and Hazel McCook and long-time companion Lum Barger.

Robert "Bob" Arnold, 70, 1502 E. Elm, died early Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be at 1 PM Friday in the Chapel at Henninger – Allen Funeral Home. Harry Shaddy will officiate. Burial will be at 3:30 PM at the Fairview Cemetery in Fairview.

He was born August 11, 1916, in Covert, Michigan, and later moved to Wichita, Kansas, where he lived for three years. He then moved to Ashland, Kansas, and attended schools in that area, graduating from Ashland high school in 1934. He was a veteran of World War I I, serving in the U. S. Air Force as an instrument instructor.

Arnold worked as a barber in Alva for several years before retiring in 1981. He and Mae Meyer cook were married July 6, 1979, in Canadian, Texas. They made their home in Enid. The past three years, he worked for Hand – N – Hand through OG & E.

Survivors include his wife, Mae; two sons, Robert Bruce Arnold and Stephen Michael Arnold, both of Kansas; his mother, Juanita Allderdice, Sun City, Arizona; and a brother, Judson Arnold, Tulsa.
