Cleo Springs Cemetery


CLEO SPRINGS – Services for John Edward Bennett, 62, will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Chapel at Fairview Oklahoma with Rev. James Holder officiating. Burial will follow in the Cleo Springs Oklahoma cemetery.

He was born April 16,1899 in Weir Kansas to Edward Lee and Mary Bell Dean Bennett. He died September 21,1961 at a Wichita Kansas hospital after a 5 week illness. He was a veteran of World War l.

Survivors include one son Floyd Bennett, Fontana California; a stepson Robert Figer of Pryor, Oklahoma, his father Edward Bennett of Weir, Kansas and mother Mary Bennett of Cleo Springs, Oklahoma; three brothers, Earl Bennett and Bob Bennett of LaJunta, Colorado; Joe Bennett of Weir, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. Orville (Edith) Stiles of Cleo Springs, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Frank (Ethel) Drees of Wichita, Kansas and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers Floyd Bennett (born September 8,1902 and died May 1,1952 … buried in Cleo Cemetery), Arthur Bennett (born August 27,1915 and died September 9,1915), and Elmer Leon (born December 27,1924 and died May 7,1925)
