Nancy KENNEMER

Chester Cemetery

NANCY JEAN (WRIGHT) KENNEMER, of Chester, daughter of Harry Joe and Jean Phyllis (Rumsey) Wright, was born on November 11, 1951 in Great Bend, KS. She departed this life on December 31, 2015 at the age of 64 years, 1 month, and 27 days.

Nancy was raised in Great Bend until her junior year of high school when she moved to Sublett, KS, graduating Sublett High School with the Class of 1970. She then married the love of her life Kim Kennemer on June 20, 1970 in Sublett, a union of 45 years. The couple moved to Chester in 1976. In 1988 she began working for Clayton Propane, eventually becoming the manager and retiring in 2013 after 25 years of service. They attended the 1,000 Hills Ranch Church. In her spare time she enjoyed oil painting, gardening, and listening to music. Nancy also had quite the reputation as a seamstress and cook. The greatest joy of her life however, was spending time with her grandchildren.

Nancy was preceded in death by her grandparents, A.W. “Buster” and Lela Rumsey, whom she was very close with, and her parents Harry and Jean Wright.

Left to carry on her legacy are her husband Kim Kennmer of the home; daughters Michelle Self of Shawnee and Gina Kennemer of Chester; two grandchildren David Sapp of Norman and Reina Wages of Chester; and uncles Donald Rumsey and Dale Rumsey.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the Redinger Funeral Home Capel with Pastor Beau Hague presiding. Burial will follow in the Chester Cemetery.
