Burial will follow in Ames Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will be 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

June was born June 5, 1929, to Roy and Charlotte (Doty) Walmer in Ames, Oklahoma, and died April 14, 2021, at Greenbrier Nursing Home in Enid.

June was a lifetime member of Ames Church of Christ. She graduated from Claremore High School in 1947. She moved to Enid, OK, and worked for the city of Enid. On May 8, 1948, she married Harold "Dean" Wood in Ames, OK. They lived near Ames where they farmed and raised cattle. June kept the books for Dean as owner and operator of Wood's Dozer Service. They celebrated sixty years together before Dean's passing in 2009. June kept the Ames Cemetery book for over forty-two years and was instrumental in the building of the pavilion and the fences there.

June's hobbies included cooking, quilting, and spending time with family. For a number of years, she furnished cookies for athletic teams that were traveling. She was a member of the Good Cheer Club and loved being involved in community activities. She was an avid sports fan, a big Oklahoma City Thunder fan and had more knowledge of the team and stats than most "so-called" fans.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean and her parents.

June is survived by son, Skip Wood and wife De of Wheatland, OK; daughters, Julie Mason and husband, Jerry of Ringwood, OK; Kim Edmondson and husband, Kirby of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Chaney Hale; Dana Hartfiel; Lori Dankenbring and husband, Brad; Traci Stiefer and husband, Jody; Jacque Mason; Brandon Edmondson and wife, Stephanie; Lindsey Higgins and husband, James; Whitney Hartman and husband, Lance; great-grandchildren, Riley; Patrick; Kristyn; Lauren; Kyle; Shaylee and husband, Kyle; Zack; Mikayla; Kira; Peyton; Brooklyn; Wyatt; Sadie; Kelby; Oliver; Charlotte June; great-great grandson, Cory; sister, Isabell "Toots" Dennis, age 102 of Blanchard, OK; brother, John "Buck" Walmer, age 96 of Ada, OK, and sister-in-law, Jean Dyche.
