Michael Lane Umdenstock was born March 25, 1948 in Enid to Robert C. and Genevieve Morrison Umdenstock.

He graduated from Ames High School with the class of 1966.

He enlisted into the U S Marine Corp in March 1968 and was killed by Hostile Gunfire in Quang Nam Vietnam on August 3, 1968. His body was recovered and burial was held in the Ames Cemetery.

He is survived by his parents and brother John Umdenstock.
