Ames Cemetery


A Celebration of Life service for Marjorie L. Richardson, 78, of Enid, will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at the First Church of The Nazarene, with the Rev. Bruce Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Ames Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. today, Feb. 19, at the funeral home.

Marjorie was born Aug. 16, 1938, in Ames, Okla., to Herman and Dorothy (Shook) Swart and passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, in the Integris Bass Pavilion. Marjorie attended school in Ames, Okla., and graduated in 1956. She married Walter Richardson June 7, 1956, and they made their home in Enid. She enjoyed her family and spending time with the grandchildren. Marjorie was very good at keeping up with her classmates and friends — it was very important to her. She and Walter enjoyed traveling all over the United States, camping out at Canton Lake, and visiting the Salt Plains and Roman Nose State Park, to name just a few. She was a longtime member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Enid.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Dorothy Swart; three brothers, William Lewis Swart, Bob Swart and Steve Swart.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Richardson, of the home in Enid; two daughters, Susan Reid and husband Vince, of Enid; Cindy Kuhlman and husband Lester of Minco, Okla.; two grandchildren, Misty Kuhlman and partner Katie Boss, of Minco; Jeff Reid and wife Ashley of Enid; four great-grandchildren, Dakota Rhoades, Nate Reid, Natalie Reid and Addison Reid; one sister, Marita Schwind, of Yukon, Okla.; nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Memorials in Marjorie's name may be made to the First Church of The Nazarene, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Walter Edward Richardson

October 9, 1929 - May 9, 2019

A Celebration of Life for Walter E. Richardson, age 89, of Enid, is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2019, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, with Pastor Bruce Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Ames Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Walter was born October 9, 1929, to Walter and Clara (Loy) Richardson and passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019, in Clinton, Oklahoma.

Walter attended El Reno Public Schools. He married Marjorie Swart on June 7, 1956. He worked for Rock-Island Railroad in El Reno and then began working for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas. He and Marjorie came to Enid in 1958, and he began working for Vance Air Force Base as a welder for over 30 years until his retirement in 1994 at the age of 65. Walter and Marjorie enjoyed traveling all over the United States, camping out at Canton Lake, visiting the Salt Plains and Roman Nose State Park. Walter and Marjorie were longtime members of the First Church of the Nazarene in Enid.

Walter is preceded by his wife, Marjorie; parents, Walter G. and Clara Richardson; two brothers, and five sisters.

He is survived by two daughters, Susan Reid and husband Vince, of Enid, Cindy Kuhlman and husband Lester, of Minco, OK; two grandchildren, Misty Kuhlman and partner Kattie Boss of Minco, Jeff Reid and wife Ashley of Enid; four great-grandchildren, Dakota Rhoades of Minco, OK, Nate, Natalie, and Addison Reid, all of Enid; sister-in-law Marita Schwind of Yukon, OK; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial's in Walter's name may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
