April 16, 1941 - March 12, 2021

A Celebration of Life for Larry Elvin Peck, age 79, of Ames, will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at the Ames Baptist Church, with burial following in the Ames Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Larry Elvin Peck was born April 16, 1941, to Floyd and Catherine (Howard) Peck in Leedey, Oklahoma, and passed away Friday, March 12, 2021. He attended Leedey Schools, graduating in 1959. He moved to Enid in 1961. He met and married Ruby Guthrie in 1962. In 1966, he went to work for Serv-Air at Vance Air Force Base, and retired after 42 years as a T-38 mechanic. He was a volunteer for the Ames Fire Department, where he served as Secretary and Treasurer until he retired after 20 years.

He is survived by his wife Ruby, of the home in Ames; two sons, Ronnie and fiancé Kellianne Swigget, Johnny and his wife Debbie; two daughters, Sandra Schapansky and husband Dewayne, Cindy Kolesar and husband Jeff; one brother, Vernon Peck and wife Anita; as well as 6 grandkids, and 11 great-grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Floyd Edwin, and one granddaughter Cat.

Memorial contributions in Larry's name may be made to the Ames Volunteer Fire Department, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
