Ames Cemetery


October 2, 1910 - August 20, 1961

Dennis H. McCracken, 50, of Ames, died Sunday afternoon in the Okeene hospital following an illness of three weeks. Born in Ames, he had lived in that community for his entire life. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Services were held at 2 PM Wednesday in Ames, with burial following in the Ames Cemetery.

Survivors include his widow, Clara, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Vance (Clareta) Kellogg, Guthrie, Miss Sandy McCracken of the home; one son, Billy, Oklahoma City; one sister, Mrs. Fred Detrick, Ames; one brother, Jim of Pampa, Texas, and four grandchildren.

Active bearers were Ezra Gregory, Vic Laubhan, Bert L. Dryden, Leslie Swart, Wayne Mason and Manuel Kliewer. Honorary bearers were Emory Poindexter, Maurice Sloan, Lester D. Dittmeyer, Henry Scott, Ned Wood, and Ersel Scott.
