Enid, November 11 – Services are pending at the Brown Funeral Home for John L. Lozier, 74, who died in an Enid hospital Friday morning after a short illness.

Born in Freedonia, Kansas, he came to Oklahoma at an early age, settling northwest of Ames. He lived there until 1944 when he moved to Enid.

A retired farmer, he had worked seven years for the George E. Failing Company here.

Survivors include a son, Everett, Enid; two daughters, Mrs. Lou Nelson, Enid, and Mrs. Elsie Dixon, Ames; a sister, Mrs. C. E. Mason, Mooreland; 12 grandchildren and 14 great – grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. John Lozier, 65-year-old pioneer resident of the Ames community, who died Sunday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lula Roberts, 805 W. Walnut, were held Tuesday afternoon in the Concord church, south of Meno, with the Rev. John Morgan officiating. Burial was in Ames Cemetery under the direction of the Brown Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lozier came to Oklahoma from Indiana in 1893, settling on a farm 4 miles northeast of Ames.

She is survived by her husband of the home near Ames; three daughters, Mrs. Perry Shreve of Drummond, Mrs. Lula Roberts of Enid, Mrs. William Dixon of Ames, Mrs. Thom Freed of Kokomo, Indiana, Mrs. George Gander of Bentonville, Arkansas, Mrs. W. D. Fyffe of Meno, Mrs. Bertha Nelson of Ringwood, and three brothers, Lester Mason of Meno, Cliffard Mason of Ringwood, and Harley Mason of Meno. She leaves 10 grandchildren.
