Ames Cemetery


Funeral services for George H. Kitchens, 74, Irving, Texas, will be at 2 PM today in the Ames Assembly of God Church. Rev. John H. Morgan will officiate and burial will be in the Ames Cemetery under the direction of the Chism – Smith Funeral Home of Irving.

He died in a Dallas, Texas, hospital Saturday.

Born in Tioga, Texas, he moved to Vernon, Texas, when a young boy. He served in the Armed Forces during World War I. Following his discharge, he homesteaded at Roswell, New Mexico, where he met and married the former Addie Dixon in 1922.

He moved to Oklahoma in 1928 where he worked for the railroad until his retirement. He had lived in the Ames – Drummond area for the last 15 years.
