Perry and Annie FISHER

Ames Cemetery

December 27, 1865 - June 28, 1919

Death has again visited us and taken from our midst Mrs. Annie Fisher, daughter of Rev. William and Mrs. Hattie Williams and wife of Perry Fisher, her death taking place Saturday, June 28, 1919, at Oklahoma City where she had gone for special treatment, her health being poor for some time.

Annie Williams was born in McCoupinin County, Illinois, December 27, 1865. Here she grew to womanhood and on November 20, 1884, was united in marriage to Perry Fisher in Hillsboro, Illinois. To this union were born four sons, all of whom are living.

In 1899 the family moved to Oklahoma locating on a claim southeast of Ames where they resided until about 12 years ago when they moved to the city where she made her home until called by death.

The deceased was converted when 12 years of age and united with the Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Montgomery County, Illinois. On moving to Ames she became a member of the Baptist Church in this city and lived a faithful and consistent Christian life showing her faith in her daily works. She was a noble woman, a devoted and true wife, a loving mother and a kind, helpful friend and neighbor loved and respected by all who knew her, ever pleasant and cheerful, meeting all with a smile and happy greeting. She was an honored and faithful member of the Ames Rebekah Lodge and will be greatly missed by a sorrowing membership.

The funeral services were conducted in the Baptist Church Sunday afternoon, Rev. C. M. Curb of Enid, preaching the sermon and the remains were laid to rest in the Ames Cemetery. Her pilgrimage is ended. Her labor is over. Her sufferings and sorrows are done and she now waits the coming of loved ones on the other shore.

She leaves to mourn her loss a husband and four sons, a father, mother, other relatives and a large circle of friends.
