Ames Cemetery


The funeral for Roy Leon Evans, 83, Ames who died Monday in an Enid Nursing Home, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Ladusau Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Buddy Drake, minister of Free Will Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ames Cemetery.

Evans was born November 21, 1901, at Coatsville, MO. to O.W. and Olive Evans. He moved to Ames in 1917, and on Nov. 22, 1922, married Maggie Morris in Enid.

Evans farmed and worked in the Ames area. He was affiliated with the Free Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife Maggie; two daughters, Mrs. Max (Mary Olive) Jones of Farmerville, Calif., and Mrs. Virgil (Ruth) Weidner of Enid; one son, Robert L. Evans Sr. of Enid; 18 grandchildren ; and 24 greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one brother, two sisters and two great-grandsons.

Memorials in his name may be made to Hospice Association with the funeral home serving as custodian of the funds.
