Ames Cemetery


October 31, 1839 - March 30, 1909

Abby L. (Reeve ) Doremus was born near Chatham, New Jersey, October 31, 1839; died at her home near Ringwood, Oklahoma , March 30, 1909, aged 69 years, 5 months and 29 days.

In Brooklyn , N.Y. , on February 27, 1869, she was married to Edward W. Doremus. In 1974, the home was made in Nebraska, where they resided til coming to Oklahoma in 1894. Five children, two sons and three daughters were born, all of whom with the father are left to keenly feel the loss of a good and faithful mother and a true and devoted wife.

The funeral services were held at the Concord-Methodist church Wednesday afternoon, at 2 o'clock Rev, Burchfield preaching the sermon , and the Interment was had at the cemetery north of Ames. Many friends deeply sympathize with the mourning family in their bereavement.
