Lora Nell (Payne) Crow
September 14, 1933 ~ December 21, 2022 (age 89)
Lora Nell Payne Crow of Drummond, Oklahoma was born September 14, 1933 near Hydro, Oklahoma to John and Dorothy May Curnut Payne and departed this life on December 21, 2022.
Lora Nell attended Riverview, a one room school, her first four years of schooling, then attended and graduated from Hydro High School in 1952. After graduation she attended business school and began her banking career with Liberty National in Oklahoma City.
On February 12, 1956 she married Frank Crow, Jr. in the First Baptist Church in Hydro. To this union, three children were born: Annette, Frank III and Forest. They lived in Oklahoma City until 1973 when they moved to the Drummond-Ames area where they farmed. Lora Nell worked for the Bank of Kremlin in Drummond for 25 years. Frank and Lora Nell were blessed with 46 years of marriage before his passing in 2002.
Lora Nell was a member of the Ames Baptist Church. She accepted Christ as her Savior on August 12, 1945 and was blessed with many good years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Crow Jr; her daughter, Annette; her dad and mom, John and Dorothy May Payne; a great-granddaughter, Nellie Jean Bailey; two brothers, Cecil Payne and Bartley Payne; one niece, Carolyn; two nephews, Don Payne and Jerry Payne.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Frank Crow III and wife, Melisa and Forest Crow and wife, Lynette; grandchildren, Bret Crow, Zackery and Katherine Crow and children, Margret and Addison, Heather and Timothy Bailey and children, Keenan and William and Jennifer and Jordan Satterlee.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Lora Nell on December 31,2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Ames First Baptist Church. She will be placed at Ames Cemetery by her husband, Frank Jr, at a later date. Visitation with family will be on December 30, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Lahoma First Baptist Church.
