Born February 25, 1952, at Rubottom, the daughter of Meril “Red” and Betty Ruth Eakins Hodges, she died Thursday, July 13, 2017, in Mercy Hospital Ardmore.
Although she was a resident of Love County most of her life, Martha drove a school bus in Burleson, Texas for 16 years. In her free time, she enjoyed dancing, listening to classic country music, and fishing.
Preceding her in death were her parents; stepfather, J.W. Carlile; brother, Johnny Hodges; sister, Susie Lazos; nephew, Michael Lazos; and grandparents, Ira and Myrtle Hodges and John and Jessie Eakins. Survivors include two sons, Jerry “J.P.” Parsons and wife Becky of Seminole, Texas and Josh Parsons and Kati Merritt of Rubottom; brother, Meril Hodges and wife Laray of Healdton; nephew, Lynn Hodges; nieces, Sandra Hodges and Melissa Lazos; great-nephew, Cody Lynn Hodges; great-nieces, Ashley Hodges and Kayleigh Lazos; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins.
Serving as pallbearers were Joe Russell, Lynn Hodges, Tony Hodges, Jimmy Williams, Warren Williams, and Gary Westervelt.
