Eric "Clay" Nipp, 60-year-old Overbrook, OK resident, passed away Friday, December 6, 2024, at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK.
Graveside funeral services
for Clay will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 13, 2024,
in the Simon Cemetery in the Simon Community of northwest Love
County, OK with Mike Johnston officiating.
Visitation will be
held Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the
Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home in Marietta, OK.
Clay began this life on September 28, 1964, in Ardmore, OK the
son of Clyde and Beth (Staples) Nipp. After graduating high
school, Clay attended welding school. He worked as a welder for
more than 15 years before becoming a utility inspector on the
pipelines.
Clay was a breeder and raised yellow-black mouthed cur dogs for
hunting. He also spent a lot of time on the back of a horse in
team roping competitions. In his spare time, Clay enjoyed
leather crafting and woodworking. He also made knives and had a
huge collection of handiwork that he had created over the years.
Clay had a lot of things that he enjoyed doing, but none so much
as spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Clay was preceded in death by his father, Clyde O. Nipp.
Those
left to cherish his memory are his mother, Beth Nipp of Simon,
OK; a brother, William Derek Nipp of Simon; son, Clayton Kyle
Nipp of Simon; daughters, Erica Nicole Nipp and Caly Renee Nipp
both of Simon; grandchildren, Jayke Haynes, Maddyn Haynes, and
Kynslei Haynes all of Simon; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins,
and friends.
Serving as casket bearers are Kyle Nipp, MacRay Lynn, Brian
Wilson, Jay Goode, Lee Vernon, and Gary Wells. Honorary bearers
are Derek Nipp, Valgene Cantwell, David Hull, Monte Isaacs, and
David Vernon.
