Services for Mary Lou Hallum, 86, of Rubottom were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 20 in the Rubottom Baptist Church with Reverend Ryan Eakins officiating.

Interment followed in the Rubottom Cemetery.

Born May 14, 1928, at Rubottom, the daughter of Howard and Emma Ivins Lowe, she died Wednesday, December 17, 2014, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta. A resident of Rubottom all of her life, Mrs. Hallum was a homemaker and worked on the farm. She and Artis Clayton Hallum were married at Rubottom on January 12, 1957, and he preceded her in death on May 23, 1999. Mary Lou graduated from Courtney High School. She loved cooking for family and friends, gardening, and going to ballgames to watch the kids play. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As a longtime member of the Rubottom Baptist Church, she served as the Church Sunday School secretary for more than 40 years.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, George, Ovis, and Newell “Pete” Lowe; sister, Burnitta Lawson and nephew, Lawrence Black.

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and LaRee Hallum of Marietta and Greg and Vikki Hallum of Rubottom; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Rob Robertson of Falconhead; brother-in-law, Rayford Hallum of Enville; sisters-in-law, Jessie Black and husband David of Burneyville and Linda Schwarz and husband Bob of Broken Arrow; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Dewayne Black, Craig Dunn, and grandsons, Dillon May, Steven Doggett, Bret Robertson, and Russell Robertson. Honorary bearers were Juanell Dunn, Janell Swick, Hazel Hyman, Lois Dewbre, Patsy Thompson, and granddaughter, Bree Hallum.

Memorials may be made to the Rubottom Baptist Church Building Fund c/o Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, 100 East Main Street, Marietta, OK 73448.
