Services for Peggy Ann Furrh Ellis, 71, of Ardmore were held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 6 at the Rubottom Baptist Church with Reverend Ryan Eakins officiating.

Interment followed in the Rubottom Cemetery.

orn June 25, 1946 at Rubottom, the daughter of Raymond Wilson and Hazel Marie Day Furrh, she departed this life Thursday, November 2, 2017 in Love County. Peggy was raised in the Rubottom area and graduated with the Class of 64 from Leon High School with 12 years perfect attendance. She then married Robert Parker, the father of her two oldest children, Angie and Rodney, and they lived in the Wilson area. Peggy then moved to Grand Prairie, Texas and married the father of her third child, Karol Ray. Peggy later met and married Jerry Ellis. They were married for over 30 years until his death in 2009. She had lived in the Ardmore area for the past 10 years. Peggy was a beautician and had worked for Sally Beauty Supply as a manager and at Winstar when it was a bingo hall. She had most recently worked in security at Falconhead Country Club. In her earlier years Peggy enjoyed bowling and was a member of a bowling league, playing bingo, and going fishing.

She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Wilson Furrh; husband, Jerry Ellis; brother, Richard Furrh; and a granddaughter, Rotasha Parker.

Survivors include her mother, Hazel Furrh Hyman of Rubottom; two sons, Rodney Parker and Nina, and Karol Ray Walls, all of Ardmore; daughter, Angela Parker and Kenny of Wilson; brothers, Teddy Ray Furrh and LeAnn, and Pat Furrh, all of Rubottom; grandchildren, Amanda Harger and husband Casey, Randall Click, Rachelle Parker, and Dylan Smith; great-grandchildren, Talin, Sarinety, Derek, and Bristol; a special companion, Tuffy her shih tzu; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers were Joshua Meyers, Eric Meyers, Robert Freeman, J.R. Freeman, Dylan Smith, and B.B. Sanchez. Honorary bearers were Leda Furrh, Linda Pruiett, LaQuitta Furrh, Everette Furrh, Paul Alexander, and Larry Ellis.

Ardmore resident dies in Highway 77 crash A single-vehicle crash claimed the life of Peggy A. Ellis, 71, of Ardmore on Thursday afternoon, November 2 at 1:39 p.m. on Highway 77 at Shiggin Creek, three miles north of Marietta. An Oklahoma Highway Patrol report states Ellis was traveling northbound in a 2006 Nissan Altima when the vehicle entered a broadslide for an unknown reason, went off the roadway to the left and struck a tree. No passengers were in the vehicle, but the driver was pinned in the wreckage for approximately an hour and a half. She was extricated by Marietta and Lake Murray Village Fire Departments using the Hurst Tool. Oklahoma State Medical Examiner Investigator John Miller pronounced Ellis dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the collision. She was transported by Craddock Funeral Home to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City. The cause of the crash and condition of the driver remain under investigation.
