Services for Geneva Young, former Love County resident, were November 4 in the Temple and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, Oklahoma City. Officiating was Rev. Elmo Sherfield.

Mrs. Young was born July 12, 1912, at Sivells Bend, Texas, and died October 29, 1992, in an Oklahoma City hospital. She was the daughter of Beda and Mollie Howard. The family moved to Ran in 1922.

She married Vernis L. Young November 29, 1939, and moved to Cement. Due to failing health, she moved to Oklahoma City in 1982.

She is survived by a daughter, Willie Sherrill of Oklahoma City; a son, Clouis Halstied of Chickasha; a brother, Harvey Howard of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews including Rebecca Halstied of Marietta.

Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband, Vernis L. Young, in 1982.

Services were under the direction of Temple and Sons Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.
