Services for Wilma Claudene Watkins, 53, of Marietta, a former Wilson resident, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, in the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel, Wilson, with the Rev. Jason Langley officiating.
Mrs. Watkins was born September 19, 1949, at Wheeler, the daughter of D.E. "Bud" and Rosalea Purnell Watkins. She died January 4, 2003, at her home in Marietta.
She grew up in Wilson, graduating from Wilson High School in 1968. Mrs. Watkins then attended the Higher Ed Center in Ardmore for Nurses Aide Training and was employed at Memorial Hospital in Ardmore. In 1988, she moved to Marietta where she was residing at the time of her death.
Survivors include a daughter, Angela Watkins of Durant; three sisters, Artie Cross of Marietta, Marylan Gentry of Wilson and Gloria Smith of Ardmore; three grandchildren, Caleb Powell, Rose Watkins and Billy Watkins, all of Durant; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by her parents, Bud Watkins on February 20, 1983, and Rosalea Watkins on July 31, 1992.
Pallbearers were nephews and great-nephews.
Interment was in the Hewitt Cemetery, Wilson, under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home, Wilson.
