Graveside services with full military honors were conducted for Shurburne Paul Walsworth Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Thackerville. Officiating was Johnny Reed.
Born September 6, 1934, in Jonesboro, Louisiana, the son of Louella Walsworth, he died September 13, 1992, in the Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City. Mr. Walsworth was a retired Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force, serving more than 24 years. After retirement, he worked at the Love County Health Center in Marietta as an E.M.T., Surgical Scrub Tech, and as Purchasing Agent. Mr. Walsworth married Wanda Stricklan in Gainesville, Texas, July 3, 1954. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Wanda Walsworth of the home in Thackerville; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Sandra Walsworth of Thackerville; a daughter, Deborah Gale Harter of Thackerville; three brothers, Kenneth Howard of Plano, Texas, and James Howard and Mack Howard of Houston, Texas; a sister, Mary Jane Sylve of Houston; five grandchildren, Charlene Harter, DeAnna Cecil, Marcie Walsworth and Bryan Walsworth of Thackerville, and Amber Sauer of St. Jo, Texas.
Services were directed by the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home.
