Services for Robert S. Wooldridge, Jr., 78, of Ratliff City will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Ratliff City First Baptist Church with Rev. Willard Kerns and Rev. Bill Florez officiating.
Mr. Wooldridge was born January 15, 1915, at Leon and died April 20, 1993, at his home at Ratliff City. He was the son of Molly Jessie Taliaferro and Robert Stanton Wooldridge, Sr.
Raised at Leon, he attended Leon School and graduated from Burneyville High School in 1934. Mr. Wooldridge married Lucille Davenport in Marietta on July 4, 1939. They lived and farmed at Leon for a number of years, then moved to Graham where they operated a grocery store with his brother, John Richard Wooldridge. In 1949 the Wooldridges moved to Ratliff City where they owned and operated the Wooldridge Grocery until retiring in 1981. Mr. Wooldridge was a member of the Ratliff City First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucille Wooldridge of the home in Ratliff City; two daughters, Kay E. James of Moore and Rocille Tow of Ratliff City; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Wooldridge was preceded in death by his father on May 18, 1970; his mother on November 7, 1979; and two brothers, John Richard Wooldridge on April 28, 1974 and Harold H. Wooldridge on September 26, 1987.
Interment will be in the Leon Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Lavell Engle, Lonnie Carter, J.D. Ezell, Royce Williams, C.L. (Chick) Shrader, and Bob Walker. Honorary bearers include Junior Garrett, Kenneth Griffin, L.B. Lackey, R.A. Dunn, Orville Taliaferro, Fred Taliaferro, W.A. (Dub) Taliaferro, Son Taliaferro, and Boog Taliaferro.
