Services for Pauline Whittington, 88, of Thackerville will be Friday at 4:00 p.m. in the Thackerville School Auditorium with Rev. Wallace Stringer and Rev. Selby McMurtrey officiating.
Mrs. Whittington was born December 27, 1910, at Marietta and died April 27, 1999 in Marietta. She was the daughter of George and Mattie Shoemaker Sifford.
A resident of Thackerville most of her life, she married Robert E. Whittington on October 31, 1929, at Shawnee. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Thackerville.
Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Wilma Whittington and Vernon and Flora Mae Whittington of Denison, Texas, James and Verda Whittington of Gainesville, Texas, and Leon and Barbara Whittington and David and Linda Whittington of Thackerville; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Ray Buckaloo of Marietta; 28 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Whittington was preceded in death by her husband on May 21, 1991; a son, Charles Whittington in 1997; two daughters, Louise Woodring in 1995 and Willie Mae Birkhead in 1993; two brothers, a sister, and a granddaughter, Stacy Davis in 1995.
Services will be directed by Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Charlie Whittington, Dennis Birkhead, Dana Whittington, Jerry Whittington, Bryan Whittington, Jimmy Whittington, Corey Whittington and David Whittington.
