Services for Gary Lynn Whatley of Marietta were conducted Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in the Enville Community Church. Officiating were Rev. Don Williams and Rev. Warren Butler.
Mr. Whatley was born October 8, 1973, in Ardmore, the son of Loyal H. and Louise Jones Whatley, and died December 12, 1999, at his residence in Marietta at the age of 26.
Mr. Whatley had lived in Love County all of his life and graduated from Marietta High School in 1991. He then attended Murray State College and graduated from Ardmore Truck Driving School in March 1999. Mr. Whatley was employed as a driver for Pavers Incorporated of Davis. He was a member of the Enville Community Church. Mr. Whatley enjoyed hunting and was very family oriented.
Survivors include his parents, Loyal H. and Louise Whatley of the home in Marietta; a sister and brother-in-law, Deleta and Terry Minyard of Marietta; a niece, Nikki D. Whatley of Marietta; two nephews, Cody Minyard of Marietta and Toby Ringwald of Ada; and several aunts and uncles.
Mr. Whatley was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elbert and Union America Whatley; maternal grandparents, James and Alta Jones; and a brother, Loyd Whatley on July 18, 1999.
Interment in Lakeview Cemetery was under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were Rodney Pierce, Dale Faulkenberry, Derek Salazar, Greg Greenwood, Jared Hembree, Russell Rankin, Carl Shipley, Josh Hall and Chad Treadwell.
