Services for Maggie Lee "Pud" Talley, 95, of Marietta, were held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 14, in the New Zion Baptist Church, Marietta, with Elder Willie McGaskey officiating.

Mrs. Talley was born April 22, 1909, in Albany, Texas, the daughter of Myles Anderson and Bebie Jones Anderson. She died May 12, 2004, in Mercy Health-Love County Hospital.

She and Arthur "Chock" Talley were married in 1950, in Marietta. She was stepmother to several children and grand-children. During their marriage, the Talleys operated a pop and candy shop within their home. He preceded her in death August 11, 1966. Mrs. Talley was a lifetime member of Pilgrim Rest Primitive Baptist Church, Marietta.

Mrs. Talley was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Mae Gaines in 1987.

Survivors include nieces and nephews; numerous cousins including local cousins, Cora Ellison and Velma Young, both of Marietta; two stepchildren, Grace Allen of Marietta and Violet Douglas, Iowa; stepgrandchildren and other friends and acquaintances.

Interment was held at Prairie View Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Kirk Funeral Home, Ardmore.
