Services for Ann L. Thacker, 73, of Marietta, were held at 10 a.m., Monday, October 20, n the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Johnny Reed officiating.
Mrs. Thacker was born March 10, 1930, at Cement, the daughter of Henry and Dora Smith Norris. She died Friday, October 17, 2003, in Mercy Health-Love County Hospital, Marietta.
A resident of Love County all of her life, she was a retired bookkeeper for J.C. Yeatts Furniture Company. Mrs. Thacker had previously worked as a nurses aide at the Love County Health Center for several years. She and Robert Murrel Thacker were married August 7, 1948, at Gainesville, Texas, and he preceded her in death on January 23, 1990. Mrs. Thacker was a member of Marietta's First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny Murrel and Brenda Thacker of Marietta and Charles Kent and Kim Thacker of Flower Mound, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Robert Swearingin of Gainesville; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward "Hoot" and Wilda Norris of Lebanon; a sister, Sue Delgado of Marietta; five grandchildren, Christy, Richard, Donnie, Ryan and Juan; and five great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Alfred Norris and Albert "Pee Wee" Norris; and two grand-children, Robbie Moseley and Jeremy Thacker.
Pallbearers were Victor Thompson, Rick Lewis, Barry Hurst, Lee Freeman, Randy Freeman and Charles Clark. Honorary pallbearers were Dale Hallum and Raymond Cooper.
Interment was in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
