Memorial graveside rites for Paula Sitz, 60, of Ardmore, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 24, in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore, with the Rev. Don Waters officiating.
Mrs. Sitz was born May 25, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of Lawrence and Elizabeth Gentzler Kortum. She died Saturday, July 19, 2003, at her home.
She and Rudolph Sitz were married November 10, 1963, in Chicago. An Ardmore resident since 1976, Mrs. Sitz moved there from Wellsville, Kansas. She had worked as the office manager for the Lasley's Convenience Stores, and was a volunteer for CASA. For the past six years, Mrs. Sitz was a member of the Marietta Gunfighters, along with her husband and two daughters. Mrs. Sitz was portrayed as "Saloon Madame."
Survivors include her husband, Rudy of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Rudolph Jr. "Dutch" and Jennifer Sitz of Noble; two daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth "Lisa" and John Downs and Edith "DeeDee" and Jim Houser, all of Ardmore; an ex-son-in-law, David McCleskey of Ardmore; four grandsons, Daniel and Michael McCleskey, Michael Downs and Rhys Sitz; and a granddaughter, Rani Sitz.
Mrs. Sitz was preceded in death by her parents.
The Marietta Gunfighters presented a gun salute in full costume at the graveside.
Services were under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home, Ardmore.
