Services for Oma Sloan, 103, were Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Church of Christ with Mr. Floyd Johnson and Mr. Ray Hilliard officiating.
Mrs. Sloan was born May 6, 1889, in Belton, Texas, the daughter of Robert Lee and Lizzie Idella Benbow Chapman, and died August 31, 1992, in the Lake Country Manor Nursing Home, Marietta.
A resident of Love County all of her life, she married Clint Sloan in 1907 at Snyder, Texas. Mrs. Sloan was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by two daughters-in-law, Lucille Sloan of Marietta and Ethel Sloan of Kingston; a sister, Irma Lachle of Watsonville, California; 12 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, and 47 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Sloan was preceded in death by her husband on October 26, 1956; three sons, C.C. Sloan, R.L. Sloan and L.A. Sloan; a daughter, Linda Moore; four brothers; five sisters; and three grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Grandsons served as casket bearers, and honorary bearers were elders of the Church of Christ.
