Services for Clara Lee Smith of Lone Grove were at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. L.D. Choate officiating.
Mrs. Smith was born February 23, 1923, at Courtney and died March 21, 1997, in the Mercy Memorial Health Center, Ardmore, at the age of 74. She was the daughter of Earl and Tilda Welch Blankenship. Mrs. Smith had made her home at Courtney before moving to Lone Grove six years ago. She married Nat L. Smith April 29, 1975, in Marietta. Mrs. Smith was a retired secretary and a member of the Rubottom Baptist Church. She also attended the Lone Grove Senior Citizens Center and was an avid bingo player.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Margie Light of Lone Grove; three grandsons and their wives, Randy and Raquel Light, Bobby and Marla Light and Tadd and Melanie Light; and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband on September 20, 1988; an infant daughter; and two brothers, Arthur Blankenship and Jack Blankenship.
Interment in the Bourland-Belleville Cemetery, Courtney, was directed by the Kennedy Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Randy Light, Bobby Light, Tadd Light, Len Evans, Larry Don Blankenship and Brendon Blankenship. Honorary pallbearers included Larry Blankenship, Cotton Grant, Tankie Spivey, Haskell Blankenship, Leonard Evans and Gene Jackson.
