Services for Manuel Deojesus Ramon, 75, of Leon, were held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 2, in the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel, Wilson, with the Rev. Jimmy May officiating.
Mr. Ramon was born July 8, 1927, in Fisher County, Texas, the son of Sylvester L. and Rosalinda Cantu Ramon. He died Thursday, May 29, 2003, in Ardmore.
He grew up in Rotan and Del Rio, Texas. He and Rafaela Barrera were married January 23, 1948, in Aspermont, Texas.
They lived in Rotan until moving to Leon in April of 1966. Mr. Ramon was employed by District No. 2 of Love County and the Wilson Co-op.
Survivors include his wife, Rafaela of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Carlos and Barbara Ramon of Lone Grove; Arnie and Georgia Ann Ramon of Ringling, and Adolfo and Debbie Ramon of Burneyville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Josie and Gary Powell of Wilson and Elsa and Jeff Reece of Greenville; two brothers, Josie Luis Ramon of Rotan and Daniel Alfaro Ramon of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Gloria Austin and Maria Trevino, both of Oklahoma City; three step-brothers, Antonio Ramon of Houston, Texas; and Jesse and Joe Ramon, both of Fort Worth, Texas; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Ramon was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Bobby Tidwell; three brothers, Andrew, Rudy and Sylvester Jr.; two sisters, Hermila and Luna; and two step-brothers, Gregory and Rudy.
Pallbearers were his grandsons, Brian Ramon, Terry Ramon, Erik Ramon, Blake Ramon, James Powell and Ben Ramon. Honorary pallbearers were Evan Ramon, Steven Reece, Juli Ramon, Tara Ramon, Laney Ramon, Cy Ramon, Dawson Ramon, Jackson Ramon and Aaron Tidwell.
Interment was in the Leon Cemetery, under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home, Wilson.
