Graveside services for Linda Sue Reed, 55, of Thackerville, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Thackerville, with Bro. Johnny Reed officiating.
Ms. Reed was born May 26, 1946, at Collinsville, Texas, the daughter of Chester and Era Lee Roberts Reed. She died Sunday, December 23, 2001.
Ms. Reed had lived in the Thackerville area most of her life and graduated from Thackerville High School in 1964. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post No. 1922 in Gainesville, Texas.
Survivors include her mother, Era Lee Reed of Thackerville; two sons, Franklin Edward Sparkman of Saint Jo, Texas, and Brandon Abraham Sampson of the home; a daughter, Sheila Beth Taylor of Thackerville; seven brothers, Gilbert Reed of Kingston, Byron Reed, Gary Reed, Steven Reed, Anthony Reed and Timothy Reed of Thackerville and Lonnie Reed of Gainesville; three sisters, Virginia Kretzschmar, Judy Tabler and Sherry Milam of Thackerville; two grandchildren, Christopher and Justin; two step-grandchildren, Frank and Cynthia; and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and friends.
Ms. Reed was preceded in death by her father, Chester Byron Reed, on January 29, 1998; a brother, Randall S. Reed, on April 8, 1998; and a grandson, Stephen Blake Sparkman.
Serving as pallbearers were brothers Gilbert Reed, Byron Reed, Gary Reed, Lonnie Reed, Steven Reed, Anthony Reed and Timothy Reed. Honorary pallbearers were sisters, Virginia Kretzschmar, Judy Tabler and Sherry Milam.
Services were under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
