Services for Welton C. Peden, 88, of Ormond Beach, Florida, were pending with Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach.

Formerly of Marietta and Ardmore, he died November 1, 2002, at an Ormond Beach medical facility.

Mr. Peden was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Peden Sr., who were early day Marietta residents and owners of Peden's Jewelry Store in Marietta before moving to Ardmore.

He was the former owner of Peden's Jewelers in Ardmore and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

Survivors include a daughter, Marty Johnston of Ormond Beach, and two grandchildren.
