Graveside services for Mona Pershica, 69, of the Enville community, were held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 9, in the Enville Cemetery with Doyle Willis officiating.
Mrs. Pershica was born April 22, 1934, in Jackson, California, the daughter of Frank A. and Ruby K. Jauch Walloupe. She died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at Enville.
A graduate of high school in Ione, California, Mrs. Pershica had been a resident of Love County most of her life. She and Harrison "Mickey" Pershica were married in San Antonio, Texas, on February 26, 1956, and he preceded her in death on September 19, 1974. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, Mrs. Pershica served as a medical technician in the U.S. Army from July 1952 to January 1954, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. She was employed as a nurses aide in several area hospitals and nursing homes, retiring after 30 years.
Survivors include her father, Frank A. Walloupe of Ione; three sons and daughters-in-law, Harrison Jr. and Sandy Pershica of Marietta, Frank Pershica of Enville and James and Carolyn Turnage of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters and son-in-law, Katherine and Danny Marris of Madill and Helene Pershica of Enville; two sisters, Gladys Parrish of Menomonie, Wisconsin and Gloria Walloupe of Sacramento, California; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Pershica was also preceded in death by her mother, Ruby K. Walloupe; and a sister, Virginia Greer.
Pallbearers were Derek Hamilton, Clovis Hamilton, Harrison Pershica IV, Frank Pershica II and Macen Marris.
Services were under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
