Services for George Porter, 91, were Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Porter, minister of the Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church, and Rev. Tim Emmons, Eastside Baptist Church minister, officiating.
Mr. Porter was born February 7, 1902, in Sand Hook, Kentucky, and died July 29, 1993, in Presbyterian Hospital, Oklahoma City. He was the son of Samuel R. and Mary Fannin Porter.
A lifetime rancher, Mr. Porter married Frances Bennett on February 27, 1923, in Gainesville, Texas. He was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church and the Marietta Masonic Lodge No. 102.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathryn Moore and Frankie Hilton of Marietta and Janece Felton of Highland, California; two brothers, Roy W. Porter of Marietta and Claud M. Porter of Gainesville; three sisters, Maude Jones and Minnie Moss of Gainesville and Grace Bennett of Fort Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Porter was preceded in death by his wife on May 18, 1990.
Interment in the New Resthaven Cemetery, Gainesville, was under the direction of the Vernie Keel Funeral Home, Gainesville.
