Services for J.B. Mason, 77, of Oroville, California, were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 7, at Hutchison and Carnes Colonial Chapel, Marysville, California.
Mr. Mason was born March 20, 1927, at Thackerville, and died Sunday, October 3, 2004, at The Fountains in Yuba City, California.
He was a resident in the Yuba and Sutter Counties area of California for 38 years, during which time he owned and operated the Roto Rooter Service. Mr. Mason retired in 1993 and moved to Oroville seven years ago. He served in the U.S. Army in 1950, and continued in the Army Reserve from 1952 to 1957.
Survivors include his companion, Evelyn Horstman of Oroville; three daughters, Deberah Mason of Texas, Judy Smart of Marysville and Sandra Sanders of Yuba City; five brothers, Vernon Mason of Salinas, California, George Mason of Modesto, California, Mack Mason of Yuba City, Bennie Mason of Texas and Gary Mason of Oklahoma; three sisters, Eloise Rushing and Edith Kirk of Oklahoma, and Joy Landry of Florida; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Mason was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Mason Jr.
Interment was in Sierra View Memorial Park, Olivehurst, California, under the direction of Hutchison and Carnes Colonial Chapel.
