Graveside services for Gayle Morgan, 49, of Marietta, were held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 16, at Leon Cemetery with the Rev. Dwight Hawkins officiating.
Mrs. Morgan was born May 5, 1951, at Burneyville, the daughter of Wallace Calvin and Kathleen Burton Caldwell. She died Wednesday, March 14, 2001, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta.
A resident of Love County most of her life, Mrs. Morgan attended Turner School. She was employed as a cashier and waitress, most recently at Phillips 66 in Marietta and previously at the Red Rooster, also in Marietta, as well as other restaurants in the area. Mrs. Morgan was a member of the Ardmore Moose Lodge
and enjoyed playing bingo with family members and friends and also spending
time with her nieces and nephews. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her mother, Kathleen Caldwell of Marietta; a brother, Monty Caldwell of Marietta; two sisters, DeQueta Renick and Phyllis White of Marietta; six nephews, Henry Renick of Whitesboro, Texas, and Jerry Don Renick, Heath Hicks, Bryant Henson, Blaine White and Dakota White of Marietta; two
nieces, Christy Hammett and Katie Henson of Marietta; two great-nephews, A.J.
Hammett and Dalton Hammett of Marietta; and one great-niece, Kashlee Hammett of
Marietta.
Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her father, Wallace Caldwell, on January 27, 1985.
Pallbearers were B.G. Caldwell, Donnie Caldwell, Bo Clough, Jerry Ensey, Kevin Hartman and Harvey Stewart. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Russell, Vickie Reed, Pam Davis, Barbara Hornbeak, Darlene James and Kevin Birks.
Services were under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
