Services for Alfred A. Mims, 70, were September 11 in the Jehovah Baptist Church, Milo, with the Rev. Theodore Anderson officiating.
Mr. Mims was born at Ran on March 22, 1929, the son of Mathis and Ida Clayton Mims, and died September 7, 1999, in a Wichita Falls, Texas, hospital. He grew up and attended school in the Ran community. A longtime resident of Wichita Falls, he and Winnie Faye Anderson were married October 12, 1952.
He is survived by his wife of the home in Wichita Falls; a daughter, Doris Faye Johnson of Wichita Falls; three sons, William Mims of Wichita Falls, Michael Mims of Ardmore and Alfred Eugene Mims of Grandfield; fours sisters, Elsie Mims of Ardmore, Lillian Burly and Betty Brown of Dallas, Texas, and Helen Wallace of Wichita, Kansas; two brothers, Alva Mims of Newport and Ivory Mims of Kansas City, Missouri; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Interment was in the Jehovah Cemetery under the direction of Wells Funeral Home, Wichita Falls.
