Services for Robert L. Kerr, 90, were Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in the Eastside Baptist Church. Officiating was Rev. Tim Emmons.

Born October 24, 1902, in Ardmore, Mr. Kerr died October 11, 1993, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta. He was the son of William and Mary Lee Campbell Kerr.

A resident of Marietta since 1903, Mr. Kerr was the caretaker at Marietta's Lakeview Cemetery for more than 40 years. He retired in 1987 as an employee of the City of Marietta. Mr. Kerr married the former Freida Mae Hale in Ardmore on December 24, 1927. In 1985 they were honored as Pioneer Days King and Queen for their many years of community work in Love County.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Freida Kerr of Marietta; six sons, James Kerr of Union, Missouri, Carlton Kerr of De Soto, Missouri, and Billy Van Kerr, Jerry Kerr, David Kerr and Harry Kerr of Marietta; three daughters, Betty Sue Stacey of Arlington, Texas, Wanda Mae Brewer of Marietta, and Dorothy Woods of Dixon, Missouri; 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Kerr was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Wayne Kerr; four sisters and a brother.

Interment in Lakeview Cemetery was under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were John McBride, Jerry McGill, Bobby Michael, Marshal Vinson, Robert Hughes and Corky Elliott. Honorary bearers included Betty Anderson Freeman, Doc Elliott, Ruby McBride, Sylvia Harper and Marietta City employees. Honorary emeritus bearers were B. Presley, Jr. and Ray Jones.
