Services for Ola S. Kendall, 91, of Leon, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, in the Leon Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwight Hawkins officiating.
Mrs. Kendall was born February 10, 1911, at Leon, the daughter of Will and Molly Skelly Russell. She died Thursday, October 3, 2002, in Lakeland Manor in Ardmore.
A resident of Leon most of her life, Mrs. Kendall had made her home in Ardmore since February of this year. She and Woodrow Kendall were married in Gainesville, Texas, on September 25, 1943. Mrs. Kendall was a homemaker and had also been an employee of the Cookie Shop in Marietta. She was a member of the Leon Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Woodrow Kendall of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ruby and John McBride of Marietta and Billie Jo and Jim Ross of Garland, Texas; a brother, Quenton Russell of Thackerville; four sisters, Ruby Williams of Oklahoma City, Willie Maye Barnes of Wilson, and Doris Carlile and Evelyn Hood of Denton, Texas; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kendall was preceded in death by her parents; one sister and two brothers.
Pallbearers were Don Reed, Alvie Reed, Jimmy Ross, Johnny Tittle, Kevin Thomas and Robert Clapsaddle.
Interment was in the Leon Cemetery, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
