Services for Robert Lee Jones, 81, of Marietta, were held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 21, at John M. Ireland Funeral Home in Moore, with the Rev. David Evans officiating.
Mr. Jones was born August 21, 1920, in Carnegie, the son of Felix B. and Paulina V. Shinn Jones. He died Monday, December 17, 2001, in Marietta.
Mr. Jones lived most of his life in the Oklahoma City area. He graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City. Mr. Jones attended Riverside Military Academy in Georgia and also attended the University of Oklahoma. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and retired as a Logistics Specialist from Tinker Air Force Base in 1972. Shortly after his retirement, he moved to the Marietta area where he lived until his death.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine of the home; two sons, William Jones of Wilburton and Robert Jones of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Judith Kemler of Norman; a stepson, Buddy Ellis of Norman; two stepdaughters, Clauddia Jackson of Oklahoma City and Vicki Ellis-Wehr of Moore; four grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by a wife, Dorothy Ellis Jones; and his sister, Wilma Bernice Jones Sisney.
Interment was in Oakland-Knowles Cemetery in Crescent, under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel.
