Graveside services for Leacy Opal Johnson, 92, of Marietta, were held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 24, at Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, with Rev. Tommy Higle and Dr. Glen Pool officiating.
Mrs. Johnson was born October 25, 1910, at DeQueen, Arkansas, the daughter of Louis and Lona Kerksey Skaggs. She died Tuesday, October 21, 2003, in the Lake Country Nursing Center, Marietta.
A resident of Love County most of her life, Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker. She and Bruce Johnson were married on June 18, 1932, in Marietta, and he preceded her in death on September 15, 1973. She was a member of Marietta's First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Charles and Phyllis Coffey of Marietta; one sister, Gracie Bolds of Marietta; one grandson, Bruce Coffey, Highland Village, Texas; one great-grandson, Spencer Coffey of Highland Village; and several nieces.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kim Allen Johnson in 1935; four brothers, Roy Skaggs, Edgar Skaggs, Walter Skaggs and Marvin Skaggs; and a half-sister.
Honorary pallbearers were Lynn Puckett, Bill Hilton, Don Bloomer, Alvin Hilton, Bud Barnes and John Kimbrough.
Services were under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Marietta's First Baptist Church or to the charity of one's choice.
