Services for Helen Jane Hisey, 77, of Norman, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 28, at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Chapel in Ardmore, with the Rev. Glen Pool officiating.
Mrs. Hisey was born October 15, 1923, at Marietta, the daughter of Charles and Harriet Butler Neal. She died Saturday, August 25, 2001, at her residence, after a battle against COPD and cancer.
Mrs. Hisey had lived in Norman since 1965, moving there from Ardmore. She worked as a secretary and was a member of the First Christian Church in Marietta. She and Richard Hisey were married June 16, 1947, in Marietta.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Richard Hisey of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Lyle Miller of East Lansing, Michigan; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Brent and Marylynn Hisey of Oklahoma City; a sister, Louise Harkey of Marietta; a nephew and his wife, Mike and Barbara Hisey of Ardmore; a niece, Nancy Kratzke of Memphis, Tennessee; and eight grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hisey was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Hal Neal.
Pallbearers were Mike Hisey, Brent Hisey, Evan Hisey, Drew Hisey, Lyle Miller and Richard Couch.
Interment was in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma City Hospice or a local hospice chapter.
