Services for Clayton Hallum of Rubottom were Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Rubottom Baptist Church. Officiating were Rev. Mike Williams and Rev. Terry Tolbert.
Born March 29, 1926, at Jimtown, Mr. Hallum died May 23, 1999, at Rubottom at the age of 73. He was the son of Artis Jefferson and Ida Perkins Hallum.
A resident of Love County all of his life, Mr. Hallum married the former Mary Lou Lowe on January 12, 1957, at Rubottom. He was a farmer and rancher. Mr. Hallum was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. A member of the Rubottom Baptist Church, he served as a deacon and the Adult Men's Sunday School Class teacher for over 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Hallum of the home at Rubottom; two sons and daughter-in-law, Ronald Hallum and Greg and Vikki Hallum of Rubottom; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Rob Robertson of Falconhead; a brother and sister-in-law, Rayford and June Hallum of Enville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jessie and David Black of Burneyville and Linda Sue and Bob Schwarz of Broken Arrow; and five grand-children, Dillon May, Breeanna Hallum, Steven Doggett, Bret Robertson and Russell Robertson.
Mr. Hallum was preceded in death by a brother, David Hallum. Interment in the Rubottom Cemetery was directed by Kennedy Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Lawrence Black, Clancy Hallum, Owen Lowe, Dewayne Black, Lee Hallum and Leland Lowe. Honorary bearers were the Rubottom Baptist Church Adult Men's Sunday School Class and Deacons of Rubottom Baptist Church.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Rubottom Baptist Church Building Fund.
