Services for Aline Hooker, 84, of Leon, were held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, October 19, in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel, Marietta, with the Rev. Dwight Hawkins officiating.
Mrs. Hooker was born April 12, 1918, at McMillan, the daughter of John and Painey Johnson Tom. She died Wednesday, October 16, 2002, in Lake Country Nursing Center in Marietta.
She had been a resident of Love County most of her life. Mrs. Hooker was a homemaker and had also been employed at the Cookie Shop in Marietta for a short time. She and Clyde Hooker were married December 25, 1940, at Leon, and he preceded her in death on January 23, 1988. Mrs. Hooker was a member of the Leon Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons and daughter-in-law, Albert Lee Hooker of Dallas, David and Linda Jo Hooker of Oklahoma City, and Billy Wayne Hooker of Leon; three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley Ann and Arlen Vickery of Gotebo, Linda and Ronald Mitchell of Oklahoma City, and Jacque and Tim Terrill of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grand-children.
Mrs. Hooker was also preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, a brother, and a granddaughter.
Pallbearers were Ott Ladner, F.S. Mapp, Donnie Hurst, Don Reed, Dennis Holland and Barry Hurst. Honorary pallbearers were Doug Terrill, Kevin Hooker and Ron Vickery.
Interment was in the Leon Cemetery, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
